Dardreamer Posted November 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Want to book a mini suite in deck 11 but above on deck 12 is pool, restaurants, etc. Has anyone stayed on deck 11 and is it noisy from above? Thank you.
Cubechick Posted November 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2013 If you're under the pool it can be noisy when the crew moves the chairs and loungers around. Unfortunately this takes place early in the morning. Ear plugs solve any potential issues.
mpk218 Posted November 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Location location location , check those deck plans . Id say from 11552 MB foreword you should be ok . If its a MA 11064-11058 ish. Under showers and RR. should be better .;)
scaaty Posted November 12, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2013 I've stayed in 11600, it's under the kitchen area of La Cucina and we never had a noise issue since it's only open in the evening. Check out the deck plan on 11 and then look on 12 to see what's above the room. Stay with the port side towards the aft and you should be okay. Starboard side toward the aft has the garden cafe above the rooms. All the way aft and you'll have allot of noise from the great outdoors.
bobg529 Posted November 12, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2013 I was in cabin 11624 on the Jewel, which is almost identical to the Gem. It was completely quiet.
kylenyc Posted November 12, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 12, 2013 No problems with 11098 midship starboard under the Garden Cafe.
NH Cruisers Posted November 12, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2013 (edited) We stayed in mini-11502. Great statroom. Real close to the bridge viewing room (spent a LOT of time there). Very quiet and under the spa area. We would definitly do that again! We saw and would get a wave every morning from the Captain as he was looking out of the port side bridge wing, we were on our balcony. dawntrip Posted November 12, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2013 We too stayed in 11502 and loved the location. No noise from above (I think it is under the salon) and very convenient to the spa.
Bella213 Posted November 12, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 12, 2013 I'm glad I came across this thread, I was concerned about having a mini suite on our Gem cruise. Now I'll see if I can change my cabin to be under the spa. THANK YOU! :)
cjd930 Posted November 12, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 12, 2013 We were on deck 11 twice once under the buffet at about 4am we heard what sounded like furniture being moved around and or Carts being rolled. The second time we were under the gym absolute nightmare with people dropping weights at a very early time. Going on the Gem in 2 weeks booked a mini suite on deck 11, but this time we're under the spa. That should be quiet

azappraiser Posted November 13, 2013 #13 Share Posted November 13, 2013 We stayed in 11002... very quiet!!! Spa treatment room above and at the far end of the passageway so there's no foot traffic going back & forth. The door for crew access to the bridge & senior officer cabins is right outside the door, but you hardly ever hear the door open or close. The Cruise Director has the cabin next door, so that's a quiet neighbor... they're only in the cabin to change clothes & sleep. I'd book that cabin again in a heartbeat. ;)
johnsak123 Posted November 13, 2013 #14 Share Posted November 13, 2013 Traveled with friends who were in a 2 bedroom suite that was right under the weight area of the gym and you definitely heard the pounding of the weights. I spend a lot of time in their room and it was definitely disturbing Choose wisely
