Legend Upgrades? April 2013?

We all know the Carnival Legend is being reposistioned to Australia, it's suppose to have fun ship 2.0 upgrades done. Is that being done now? Will people on April sailings be able to benefit from these features. Anyone know?

The legend is scheduled to go into drydock and have the modified 2.0 in Feb 2014. So yes if you sail in april she will have the upgrades done.

 

The legend is currently on a western carribean cruise, we saw her sail away sunday when we had lunch near the port.

I'm excited to have the upgrades done, but is this a good or a bad thing? Should it affect our cruise date at all? Don't these things take time... do they ever run late?

No not usually. A ship schedule is tightly planned. Its a two week yard period. Ship yards are also tightly booked.

 

The ship goes into the yard and the job gets done in the allotted time frame. Another ship is often scheduled right away to be worked on and so everyone is on a money and time schedule. Ship companies make no money if there ship is not sailing.

 

Of course something could happen, weather, labor issues, finding something wrong with the ship that was unexpected, so there are no guarrantees but generally if its a 2 week yard ...its 2 weeks.

 

I wouldn't worry about it and would not hesitate to book an April cruise on the Legend. The 2.0 should upgrade the ship nicely. Enjoy the cruise.

Is the Legend getting 2.0? Last I had read it was just getting a few upgrades similar to what the Spirit got before she went to Australia.

You are correct, she is recieving a modified 2.0 similar to the spirit.

I think it's the first two weeks of February. I saw this on another forum and if you look at Carnival's bookings on the website there is no cruises for that time. I believe the 23rd is the first cruise back from dry dock... Call a Carnival rep and they should be able to verify for you.
