Difference between Voyager and Radiance class ships? A few ?s

Recommended Posts

Hi!

While not brand new to these boards, we are new to sailing RCCL. (Have sailed DCL numerous times and Carnival once.) We're looking forward to the Southern Caribbean in March!

I've checked the RCCL website, and have read the differences posted, but would also like cruisers opinions. The RCCL megaships on the Travel channel looked AWESOME, but Serenade better fits our date and itinerary preference. Is the Serenade 'family friendly' for spring break (we'll have our 11 year-old DD), or is this ship more senior-oriented.

Thanks for any info! Also, is bringing your own soft drinks onboard permitted?

We have been on both...Voyager and Adventure each once, Serenade 4 times. Our Hawaii and Alaska trips were mainly older people and couples on the Serenade, while the Caribbean was more couples and families. On the two bigger ships it was a little of everyone in the Caribbean. Voyager ships have more space and maybe a little more for the kids to do...roller blading, ice skating, pizza place, but it is a busier ship. The Serenade, needless to say, is our favorite...beautiful as the other two are...but more "personable" to us. It really depends on what you are looking for, but you can not go wrong on either class. Yes, you can bring sodas on board...we always take water and sometimes soda. Depending on your ports, you can buy it there and bring it on..or just bring it with you as you board.
