sunfl0wer Posted November 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2013 We are disembarking in Barbados and JetBlue has recommended arriving 4 hours before departure. Anyone have recent experience with TSA, customs, etc.? Thanks much.
jcl410 Posted November 15, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2013 I've flown out of BGI on American several times. The ticket counters are not in an air conditioned area, so don't get there too early! I got there 3 hours ealy last year, and it was OK After you check in, you'll get in line for passport control; Barbados *loves* to stamp passports.:-) After that, you'll go through security; last year there was only 2 lines, but it didn't take too long. It all depends on how many people show up at the same time. There are several large aircraft that leave in the afternoon. (When I landed last year a Virgin Atlantic 747 had just landed and it took almost 2 hours to get through Immigration!) Aloha, John

aimodels Posted November 26, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 26, 2013 (When I landed last year a Virgin Atlantic 747 had just landed and it took almost 2 hours to get through Immigration!) LOL:) Been there and it sucks... We found that 3 hours before your departure is fine; however, if you want to arrive earlier just to be safe, you can always sit and have a beer or a snack... Cheers, P:)
cruisingbajan Posted February 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Two hours before departure time is normally more than enough. However if you are uncomfortable with that... 3 hours is definitely good.
