Cash on the Epic?

This will be our first Norwegian cruise having sailed on RCI numerous times. RCI issues a Sea Pass linked to a credit card that is used for all shipboard expenses. No cash is used except in the casino...and the casino will issue cash against the Sea Pass. I want to know if the Epic has a similar policy. People here have mentioned tipping with cash so now I'm wondering if things are handled differently on the Epic. Thanks for clarifying this issue.

Same thing. You'll have all of your expenses tied to your key card.

 

Cash tipping (in addition to the service charge) is done at an individuals discretion but is not required.

Lots of people like to have some small bills on hand to tip staff that may go above and beyond the call of duty. It's also handy for giving a few dollars to the room service delivery person.

 

Folks that are NOT included in the distribution of the Daily Service Charge pool include the kids club staff, and your concierge and butler if you are in a suite. You would tip them separately

 

Tips can be given in cash, or put on your account. If you want to provide something extra to your steward, or if you have a butler, you can go to the service desk, indicate who you want to tip, and you'll be given a voucher that you can hand to the person you tipped.

 

You can get cash at guest services. I think if you get cash at the casino you will pay a service charge. I know the ATM on the Epic had a service charge, but I forget the amount
