...about the new passport requirments? I understand that we won't need a passport to cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya in Feb. 2006 since we are visiting Mexico, and that deadline will be December 31, 2006. Does this sound right? I got the info at http://www.travel.state.gov.

Technically, you are correct; however, what if the cruise line changes the itinerary so that you go somewhere else? You could be stuck.

 

I'd recommend that you get your passport.

I agree with nhrich. I too would get a passport just in case they switch ports on you. We just got ours for our August cruise to the Bahamas. Better safe than sorry.

I think that all cruise lines are advising guests to have their passports by the first of the year. Everyone is going to need one anyway sooner or later.
