In our ongoing attempt(s) to meet up while in Alaska, we are again foiled :( I just checked the cruise ship docking schedule for 2014 and the Amsterdam will NOT be in the same port on the same day as ANY of the 7-day cruises we are considering. DRAT!

Oh dang it! Just our luck! :rolleyes: One of these years, my friend, we will meet up! And who knows - maybe we'll be like ships passing in the night on our journey and we can wave to each other! I'll be the one on the aft of the Navigation deck, just beneath the Lido deck on my "secret deck" waving like crazy;).

Yes, we WILL meet, I'm confident of that. And perhaps this time we WILL be two ships passing in the night, waving and yelling at each other :) Will post more when I know which ship we choose. Definitely Zuidy, Zaandam or Volendam -- with (currently) the Volendam leading the race.

The Zaandam has a screamingly good price on OVs, though, and seeing as I'll be paying 200%, I'm hoping that we end up on her. NOW, though, the people who didn't care much about glaciers (one of whom SLEPT through much of Glacier Bay last time) want to go back to Glacier Bay :rolleyes: :D I love 'em all, they are good friends, but some days.... :D

Consider yourself "in" Penny - how fun it would be to meet you ladies - whose advice about AK I have always found to be spot on. I just know we'd hit it off, and I'm hoping that someday, somehow, somewhere, it really does happen!

:) I like the sounds of this. I missed meeting AIP when she graciously invited me to join her and her niece(??) and the niece's boyfriend (??) on the 14-day Amsterdam Alaska cruise a couple of years ago and I declined. I don't share space very well, unfortunately. Maybe there's some way around that..... I can't imagine two people I'd more enjoy Alaska with!
