noahsark99 Posted July 12, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2005 Place D'Armes is a great hotel! I just stayed there a month ago. It is beautiful and quiet but also close to everything. Can't recommend it enough! http://www.placedarmes.com/
cali-croozer Posted July 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2005 We stayed at the Hampton Inn, Convention Center, pre-cruise and the Drury Inn and Suites post cruise; enjoyed them both. I posted reviews of both hotels on the New Orleans forum. If you have any other questions, ask away.
Bequia Posted July 13, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2005 Marriott on Canal, central location to everything. Great pillowtop beds. Request high floor overlooking the river, spectacular views! The Sheraton across the street is pretty nice as well.;)
Hockey19 Posted July 22, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2005 You didn't say when you would be going but forgetting seaon for the moment-you are going to NEW ORLEANS! It is a city with incredible character and flair. You can stay at Sheraton anywhere but with a little research you can find anything from "average" to super luxury local hotels that will give you some great memories. Off season (summer) prices are real cheap everywhere - even the best. In season things can get pricey but with a little work you can find bargains. I have stayed at Le Richelieu on the edge of the Quarter and booked the Provencial for Feb. ($138 +tax). Use TripAdvisor to get a feel for some names and reviews of the hotels. It's got a nice mix of everything.

Hockey19 Posted July 24, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2005 The room I stayed at at Le Richelieu was not really suitable for 3. It is a charming couples place. The rooms I could see (when service was cleaning) showed them to be be more in line for 2. Depending on the age of #3 a cot might be ok but if the child was older-the room may not be ideal. We loved the location (away from the night noise of the quarter) but close enough to walk, the size (pretty small)and the parking (free).
