Vitamin_Sea Posted November 22, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) We will be on the Splendor end of January - were huge hockey fans. Anyway, Islanders vs Rangers @ Yankee Stadium-on 1/29 and we would like to watch it. It will be broadcast on NBCS and TSN in the evening. Does anyone know if the ships get those channels? golfadj Posted November 22, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2013 If it is being carried nationally you have a very small chance on NBC. Wouldnt count on it tough.

bar1068 Posted November 22, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 22, 2013 Chances to see that game are pretty much slim to none....and none with a big lead. Only hockey I've ever seen on 10 different cruises... a few of those during playoffs...are weekend games on NBC.

YubaSutter Posted November 22, 2013 #9 Share Posted November 22, 2013 It seems that soccer is the sport of choice on Carnival.
irishnyc Posted November 22, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 22, 2013 The channels are very limited, even in the sports bar. The chances are slim to none.
golfadj Posted November 22, 2013 #11 Share Posted November 22, 2013 It seems that soccer is the sport of choice on Carnival. They do show a lot of soccer on the ship and never quite undertood that. Crew might be soccer fans but not most Americans.

Its weird though, soccer is the #1 sport in most of the world- except USA. I guess it never really caught on. So, Im prepared to watch soccer :)

Not exactly true. Soccer is the #1 sport for Americans. That's Central Americans and South Americans.

splintz Posted November 23, 2013 #17 Share Posted November 23, 2013 the only channels carnival will have is espn deportes which mainly shows cricket and soccer. they will have some miami affiliates for the networks nbc, cbs, and fox. on one cruise on the pride they did have tnt and tbs and were playing nba basketball playoffs but that was only in the casino and sports bar. they will not have nbc sports network so no hockey. i took a cruise during the nhl playoffs but luckily my team played 2 national games on nbc during the trip and the one game that was on a channel they didn't have on the boat we were docked in bermuda and i found a bar to watch the game.
