bowen9475 Posted November 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2013 I am interested in the dolphin and sting ray excursion on Grand Cayman. My kids and I would love it but my husband, not so much. He isn't a water lover. Is it possible to buy an "observer" type ticket so he could come and watch us, but not actually get into the water? Is there a phone number for questions about excursions? wrigley80 Posted November 23, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 23, 2013 It probably depends on who you go with....on our first trip to Grand Cayman we went to Stingray City and we went with Moby Dick tours. My mom didn't want to get in the water so she stayed on the boat and took photos. They only charged us $20.00 for her. If you are going with an independent tour operator then I would ask them when you make your reservation
bowen9475 Posted November 23, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Should have said - we are planning to book through the cruiseline.
Georgiagolfer Posted November 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) Should have said - we are planning to book through the cruiseline. DW and I did the sting ray/dolphin excursion and booked thru Carnival. There was no option for an observer only payment that I noticed. But I must add that we both enjoyed the excursion, one of our best ever. BTW, we did this 3 years ago and we both were 63 years young. MichelleChell Posted November 23, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 23, 2013 Thru the cruise line they don't usually have an observer option. I would go independent it's cheaper and you don't feel like cattle going on an excursion.
MicksMom Posted November 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2013 I don't know in Grand Cayman but I know it is offered in Cozumel for around $25. It was listed in the excursion booklet in your room. I don't recall seeing it available online.
Colorado Kat Posted November 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 23, 2013 It is very safe to book an independant excursion in Grand Cayman. Check out Nativeways Tours. Many fewer people on a boat.
