Why is the ships leaving late today?

Sunshine is still in port, but it isn't unusual to get underway a bit late from New Orleans.

If it's 4 from the same port, it must have to do with weather or a port-specific matter.

For those ships coming out of east coast ports (Freedom, Conquest, and Glory) it could be related to the weather. It has been very windy up and down the east coast with a weather front approaching. If any ships arrived back in port late this morning due to weather that would have cause delays for disembarking passengers which would in turn cause delays for the departures.

 

Can't say for sure about the Sunshine out of New Orleans.

Conquest was on an open looped cruise...I am sure that is why. Just repositioned from NO.

Glory left pretty-much on time at 4:20.

 

Its been going on with a lot of ships. MSC's Divina, RCI's Independence of the Seas, one of the Oceana ships. IOS didn't leave until almost 8 the other night.

 

I could see one instance in Miami being caused by a shortage of pilots. 8 ships in port a couple Sundays ago.

Carnival Sunshine finally left at 7:30 PM New Orleans time.

Don't know for sure but heard there was a problem with FOG getting the ships back into port ... thus delays on leaving on the next sailing ..... :confused:
