elklemi Posted November 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2013 On the Miracle in April and we want to tour a tequila factory. Can we get a cab and do this on our own in Cabo and PV or just in one of these ports?
pulledporky Posted November 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2013 I don't think there are any tequilla factories in Cabo, I don't know if there is any agricultural production of anything. Went to a "boutique" distillery outside of PV. They claimed to make tequilla but never saw any actual production. More like a demonstration distillery for tourists. MSN-Travelers Posted November 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2013 There are no production tequila distilleries (factories) near any cruise ship ports. Vallarta has a couple micro-distilleries in the area but most area well beyond an economical taxi ride. (because they are part of a larger excursion) The closest is HACIENDA DOÑA ENGRACIA. A couple of the cruise ships use them as an excursion destination. I would guess that you could grab a taxi and go on your own for the entertainment value. You might check with them direct: http://www.haciendadonaengracia.com/ These are very small operations and you can't get any of their product anywhere but at that location. Enjoy! I believe this is the one we went to. Several tastings included. Not one for flavored tequilas but tried a peach flavored I thought would be good over ice cream - go figure. Also tried an anejo that tasted like an oak 2x4. It was so woody I thought it had to be artificial, or steeped in wood chips. They were hearding groups through about as fast as they could to get us to the "store". Did the Jeep excursion w/Carnival, it included a taco lunch and margarita at the distillery (no alcohol served to the drivers at any of the stops).
