skopgat Posted December 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2013 DH and I will be sailing on the Miracle in February. We've been confirmed for late dining, but I'm not seeing a spot where I ask for table size. Am I missing something, or does Carnival seat you "at random"? I'm hoping for a big table, I think that's the most fun. Thanks! Gwynn

I was expecting to have to sit with a bunch of strangers, but we had a table for just the 4 of us.
WLHyatt Posted December 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2013 There is nowhere to request that. The only real way to do it is find the email address for the ship's MD and request it, or post for John Heald to do it for you.

Cruizinman Posted December 3, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 3, 2013 The tables are all to close together, a two top may as well be a four top. If you feel the need to stretch you may poke the poor fellows eye out in the next table over . If you see someone backing into the seat next to yours be sure you lean in the opposite direction :D
HawkIVette Posted December 3, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 3, 2013 Just got off the Conquest a couple of weeks ago. Wife and I were seated at a table of 8. Only 2 other couples showed up. By the 3rd night, we invited another couple to eat with us and there was no problem. All were strangers coming on the ship, but friends going off. Was also so surprised to see so many empty tables . I am sure that if you requested a move a day or so in, it would not be a problem.

Cruznjuly Posted December 3, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 3, 2013 My PVP was able to note my table size request on our reservation. Who knows if it will actually work, but it's on there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You'll probably be seated with other couples close to you in age. My suggestion would be to do this: before the first dinner seating, go to the MDR and ask to see your table. If you don't like it, speak to the maitre d' and ask him to reseat you.
Colorado Kat Posted December 3, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 3, 2013 We asked to sit at a large table once (party of 3). They sat us at a table for 14. The other 11 spots were one large family who did not want strangers sat at "their" table. Nobody would speak to us.
Lerin Posted December 3, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 3, 2013 You can probably speak to them when you first board or your pvp now. We've had tables for just our family, tables with just couples(when it was just the 2 of us) and a large table shared with another family. We've been happy with every table assignment so far *knock on wood*

askimdog Posted December 3, 2013 #14 Share Posted December 3, 2013 I suggest as well, going to see the Maitre'D asap upon boarding. We only use the MDR 1-3 times per 7 day cruise, but refuse to sit with others. I visit the MDR right away and request a table for 3 (wife, daughter and I). This has not been a problem yet. golfadj Posted December 3, 2013 #16 Share Posted December 3, 2013 Generally we are happy with our table mates but several times we have stopped by the MD station and asked for a change and we were accomodated.
