maureencruiser Posted December 17, 2013 Author #176 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Then, I think Kangaroo Jack came back disguised as a woman and did it again. Look at the two pictures, exact same pose in both. Even the emcee is reacting to that! Meanwhile, where are all our people? They're struggling to blow up the balloons. Mr Trouble, You're our only hope! He did not disappoint. Then, he came back disguised as a woman and did it again. They won again and then won the final event, shaking ping pong balls out of a Kleenex box tied behind you. Tall people came and I didn't get any good pics. Team Grandeur Thanks to the ship's photographer for lining them up like that for me!
maureencruiser Posted December 17, 2013 Author #177 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Then, I wandered some more. I think this little girl is stuck in the hammock. This little boy came around selling Free Rocks. I got a good one, I think. Grandpa, teaching granddaughter to swim.

maureencruiser Posted December 17, 2013 Author #179 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I rode the fabulous Cocoabutter II. That's it for tonight, I gotta get some sleep. Either that or the rancid OJ is making me tired.
maureencruiser Posted December 17, 2013 Author #180 Share Posted December 17, 2013 You can call me warped. Lots of people do.;) Wrona is a family name, used every 2-3 generations going back over 400 years. Before me it was most recently my great grandfather's name, who said it was a girl's name and went by something else:p. That family was from Prussia but Wrona is a (not even common there) surname in Poland so it probably a long ways back came from there. Wow, Well, if I ever see anything with Wrona on it, I will be sure to buy it for you. Would you be willing to accept Wrong and do a little cutting and pasting? :D I forgot to say one thing. The little boy with the free rocks came around again about an hour later. I told him I already had one, could I have another? He said I could, but, if I took a second one, I would have to give the first one back or pay a dollar to keep both. How could I pass up a deal like that? Two rocks for a dollar? They were great rocks and I will treasure them always. :) I will be sure to visit them every time I go to CCC. ;)

Robinola Posted December 18, 2013 #182 Share Posted December 18, 2013 So, how long does it take to get to Bayonne? Quantum, here I come? :p I don't remember if I mentioned it earlier, but, Turtle and I got day rooms back at the same hotel. We got there around 10am and our train was scheduled to leave at 3pm. It was nice to have a place to stay, she took a nap and I caught up on the news (another school shooting!) and started uploading pictures. Thanks, Elayne and thanks for letting me take a picture of your drink! And your left breast! :p What do you think of traveling via amtrak solo? Did you feel safe? Do you recommend it? I would only use it to go from west Florida to east Florida, so not that long of a travel, but am curious. How did it "feel"? Thanks!
maureencruiser Posted December 18, 2013 Author #183 Share Posted December 18, 2013 Well, I wasn't solo on the train, Turtle and I were together, but, it would have been fine. Most people were by themselves. Lots of college kids, I would say. Very safe.
joand452 Posted December 18, 2013 #184 Share Posted December 18, 2013 Glad to see you're back and posting again! I know where the Lee High School is in Virginia (Springfield in Fairfax County) and I don't think they were from there. Can't wait to visit Coco Cay for the first time in November. How was the water/air temp in December? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

maureencruiser Posted December 19, 2013 Author #186 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Can't wait to visit Coco Cay for the first time in November. How was the water/air temp in December? The weather was perfect! Nice breeze blowing!! I lasted less than an hour on Labadee in September. :D Thank goodness you recognized my good side! :) I'm looking out for you! :D
ocsuzie Posted December 19, 2013 #187 Share Posted December 19, 2013 Great review and great meeting you on this cruise! Love all your pictures, too. Expecially the one of the little boy "selling" rocks! I recognize someone in that picture!!! Can't wait to see Key West! Suzanne:)
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #188 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Back on the ship, a little pasta and some cordon bleu. Followed by chocolate ice cream with toasted coconut and chocolate sauce. :D My watchband broke , so, I headed out to the $10 watch sale to replace my $5 K-Mart watch. I don't wear a watch at home, only on a cruise. I ran into Henry on the way. My new watch, it was the smallest one they had. It seems a LOT bigger than my old watch. And, yes, it IS a woman's watch, I checked three times. :(
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #189 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Is it my new watch or my freakishly small wrist that is the problem? My first ever Lava Flow! Yummy!! In the Centrum, they did a Minute to Win it type contest followed by the 50's/ 60's Sock Hop. Darryl and Joyce in costume. This was Joyce's last cruise on Lady G. She is moving to the Allure! Elvis is alive! Doing the Hand Jive.
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #190 Share Posted December 20, 2013 A little bit softer, now. These kids got so "soft" , they had to lie down. I think these 4 were all siblings, maybe cousins. They were at every event, especially if it involved dancing. I think we have 4 new cruisers for life! Wednesday - Key West! Who let the chickens out? Cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck, cluck. :D Admit it, you sang along! We had to go through Immigration today, but, first, breakfast. This was my view. We could crush them like a bug. kahliasmom Posted December 20, 2013 #191 Share Posted December 20, 2013 (edited) Oh a 50's/60's sock hop! Cool! Could you tell me more about that? We are going on the Grandeur on the 24th of Dec and I hope they have a sock hop on our cruise. My 76 year old mother would love that. She was just saying how they always have a 70's night and a Beatles tribute band for the 60's but why don't they have a 50's themed something. What time of day did they have it in the Centrum? maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #192 Share Posted December 20, 2013 At Immigration, I ran into Darryl. He calls us Cruise Crickets, by the way. He gave me some advice about local wi-fi spots, as he had done in Nassau and then he posed for a few pics. Acting coy. Key West was all decked out for Christmas. Big Boobs Magee! How did she get off the Allure? And, isn't that girl a little old to be nursing? KW has a lot of nice statues. This one reminded me of Carl Yastrzemski. maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #193 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Making friends in KW. This one reminded me of a skinny John Wayne. The statue, not the lady. Oh, I didn't realize Big Boobs Magee had 5 sisters. And yes, the man is a statue, too. I don't know why he only has one shoe, maybe he ran so fast to get over there? Now, that's a statue! We were in KW on a Wednesday. I had three things I wanted to see and I was on a mission. I learned through CC that from the pier to the Southernmost marker is 1 and 1/2 miles, so, I decided to walk instead of taking the Trolley Tour or the Conch Train. I took some pics of some of the famous local, watering holes.
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #194 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Oh, man, I want a square taco! My new motto. I know smoking is bad, but, this place smelled delightful. I liked the striped ones, they looked like candy canes. Some local toughs. It started raining and I didn't want my glasses to get wet, so, I kept ducking under the awnings. KW has a TON of stores with awnings. Oh my, I guess it was Bring Your Chicken to Work Day.
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #195 Share Posted December 20, 2013 I like window shopping, it is much less expensive. Oh, yeah, right. Why do I even bother looking? *** :D *** *** :D ***
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #196 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Of course, I bought the shell. $6 and I have been searching for it for 50 years. :D Now, I've worked in several different pharmacies, but, not one of them looked like this. Hookahs!
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #197 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Lush yoga, sign me up! Pretty! This was just some guy's patio, but, I liked it. Only in KW does an Adult Entertainment Club look like this!!

She was just saying how they always have a 70's night and a Beatles tribute band for the 60's but why don't they have a 50's themed something. What time of day did they have it in the Centrum? It was at night, I'm going to guess it was 8:00. As you can see, the CG staff came out in costume and did the 50's kind of dances. A lot of people were dancing, too. We had a lively crowd and that helps make everything fun. I remember they did the Twist, Shout (a little bit louder now), they also did Summer nights from Grease, sorry, I can't remember any of the other songs. They might have done a surfing song because I remember a guy got on the floor and a girl stood on his back, surfing him. They do have a Disco/70's night, pictures to follow (Darryl in leather chaps!), but, no Beatles tribute band. We had guest entertainers called the Divas of Motown and they did everybody, The Supremes, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder. They were outstanding! If they are on your cruise, take your Mom to see them as well, they had 5 costume changes!! :)
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #199 Share Posted December 20, 2013 Finally, my first destination. Metal bugs - I like 'em! Through this door, there be dragons! Bugs under glass. Here's the dragon I warned you about.
maureencruiser Posted December 20, 2013 Author #200 Share Posted December 20, 2013 These looked like dollar bills to me. Always good advice. OK, Now to the good stuff. You go into the butterfly area and walk around and they fly all around you. You know the scene from Snow White where the bluebirds are all flying around Snow White? That was me in the Butterfly house. Apparently, they like blue and green and that is what I was wearing. They loved me! I am the Butterfly Whisperer!! These were my favorites - Blue Morpho Butterflies. They are brown on the outside, but, if they open their wings, they are a beautiful blue.
