CruisinMommy77 Posted December 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Hello! In less than two weeks, husband and I will be going on Royal Caribbean cruise aboard Liberty of seas and stopping in Falmouth, Jamaica with our two kids (ages 15 months and 5yrs old). I would like some input on two things: 1) Montego Bay vs Ochos rios Which location will be best for kids, considering travel time from Falmouth and kid friendly excursions. Any excursion, activity or beach recommendations would be helpful. 2) Transportation from Falmouth to either location mentioned above I am not traveling with car seat and so I am concerned about getting around in Jamaica. Are taxis usually available from port or should I look into booking a shuttle service? Any input would be greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance! Peripateo Posted December 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2013 Check out http://www.mytimenplace.com We took our two year old last year and had the place all to ourselves most of the day. Loved it! Rustic, but completely adequate and in fact what you would imagine the real Jamaica to be like. A fun experience!
fam2cruise Posted December 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2013 I'm not sure of the distance between Falmouth and Montego Bay (have only docked in MoBay) but we thoroughly enjoyed a day pass at Sunset Beach Resort in MoBay with our 3 year old son. Great pools and water slides. Several beach options and it was an all inclusive. Taxis are available but be sure you explain you are ONLY interested in your destination and NOT any additional stops. They will try to talk you into going to shops, but you don't want to do that... Have a great trip! We love Jamaica but know to be aware and stay safe. Loved it! Rustic, but completely adequate and in fact what you would imagine the real Jamaica to be like. A fun experience! I referenced the link and it seems to be a lil paradise! At a good price for the day too! My only concern was that through the pics I saw it seemed very isolated and wonder if we should be concerned?? Thanks for your suggestion

Peripateo Posted December 6, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 6, 2013 No issue with being isolated. Actually a short 10 minute drive from the port!
