New Butler ?

Didn't even know there was such a thing as a "night butler" and we're regular suite cruisers.

However, if this person is not the same person as your regular (daytime?) butler, then yes, I'd tip him when he provides the service, as you may not see him again. Our habit is to tip our regular butler at the end of the cruise.

I believe the regular butler gets off at 8 or 9pm. If you need, or want, anything after that you will get someone different. We have never used the butler that much, but I do get the munchies late at night sometimes! Yes, we always tip at the end of the cruise too.

I always use my nite butlers for the most part they are like butlers in training. I always tip them a few dollars when they bring my after casino food, around 2am lol. Then the last nite of cruise I order something and tip them much more. I love Tony my nite butler last year on Jewel

The Butlers rotate not just in cabins, but they all get night shift. So, it there are 9 Butlers on a ship, every 9 weeks the same Butler will have night shift. I tip the night Butler only when I use him or her.

Hope this helps!

You mentioned tipping the night Butler for getting Food after Midnight. Just curious when the Butler gets you Room Service after Midnight do you also pay the surcharge on top of the tip? June 2014 will be My Families first Cruise in a Suite and was curious.

We have stayed in a suite before and have used the butler, but never after hours. My question is, if you use the night butler, do you tip him then or at the end of the cruise?

I believe the Butler is on duty until 11 p.m. or midnight.

Anything needed after that would come from room service......

and you'd just tip the person who delivered your food at that time.

See, now when I was on the sun I called room service around 10:30 p.m. and they informed me that my Butler was on duty until.....11 p.m. or midnight, I can't remember. Room service told me that after those hours to call room service and they'd be doing the delivery.

That's interesting as every review I have been reading in regards to the Butlers is that the night Butler works all night till your Butler comes back on duty in the morning.

I only know what room service told me. I have no first hand knowledge as I only called one time, and my butler was still on duty at that time.

I know for a fact their is a night butler I always order when I get back to my suite around 2am no surcharge as you are in a suite and always a butler. Even if you call room service a butler brings your food. This has happened for the last 10 years in a suite. Go enjoy and I have always had the same night butler
