Inexpensive Parking Options?

My husband wants to research inexpensive parking options. Last year I parked at Fulton's garage because DH couldn't make the trip. We are visiting New Orleans for an event at the convention center and staying at the Hilton Garden Inn (right next to Fulton's garage). Because we are not on a cruise, Fulton's is $20 a day. I did a search of the board for the Whale lot to try and find prices but one poster said that was only for cruise passengers. I couldn't find it in search, but I thought I once read that you can park at the casino and just play slots once a day to get free 24-hour parking? With my husband and 21 year old son with me on this trip, that may be an option? Is this still the casino deal or am I remember incorrectly?

They have changed the procedure somewhat.

You swipe your player's card at a kiosk near the escalators before you leave. When you leave, you present your player's card and ID to the cashier. The person who played on their card has to be in the car.

I just returned from a NCL cruise that sailed from New Orleans and found several covered parking lots across the street from the Convention Center (which is in front of the cruise terminal) for $12 a day.

Help that helps!

PS The parking in the Hertz garage include a free shuttle to the terminal. It was close enough that we just walked.

We always use Fulton but your $12 a day rate would be cheaper. do you remember if the lots had 24 hour security in them or where well lit?
