They're not going to ask for the card. If you want to be super cautious get money wired and have images of the card's front and back sent to you. But seriously, you're not going to need it. We drive down and always have our ID's and Birth Certificates in a separate "cruise" folder...but the Credit cards we used to set the On board account and off shore excursions are sitting nicely at home. We did not bring enough cash to do all of the things we had planned for... Will carnival let me set up (which is already done) my onboard account without having the card in hand...or can I get my Inlaws to text me a picture of the card with my name and numbers visible... PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!! :eek: I think I have screwed up the vacation for the whole family because of this... Have a family member wire you cash via Western Union. In Florida, you can pick up money wired via Western Union at Publix Supermarkets. But also go to the Western Union website as there are many other places where you can retrieve the wired money. They were supposed to get a definitive answer and call me back by 8pm this evening but I never got a call back. I had my FIL to take picture of the front and back of the card and send it to me in a text message. I will show them that If they require the card...if thats not good enough..It will just be a very cheap trip. I haven't had to show mine in quite some time. You should be able to take cash out through the poker or slot machines and ask for it at the casino cage, I think. Let us know. Have both sides for the 3 digit number and your signature. BUT..............do you have a picture ID? Well I guess that's not an issue for you anymore, eh? :D Another thing people often do is cower at the sight of any authority. I'm not advocating making a scene or being obnoxious but if the first person you talk to tells you, "no, it's policy" but you feel this is one situation in which some leniency should be applied for legitimate reasons then it's time to call over a manager and remain calm. That's part of a manager's duty, to take on more nuanced situations and use their managerial power to make exceptions. Obviously don't do this all the time but this situation would be one to call a manager if, and I don't think it will even be brought up, the credit card is asked for. Money has already been withdrawn for the gratuities, the cruise was probably booked on the same card, the name and address matches the passenger, the passenger can provide pictures of the front and back, and they could call the CC company and do any verification necessary.
