I guess I'm not much of a gambler

I've been reading lots of posts lately about casino offers but I just don't understand how "spending" () oodles of money in the casino in hopes of getting a cheap cruise offer is such a great deal. Why not just save the extra money you plan on "spending" in the casino and buy a cruise? It would probably be cheaper in the long run...no?

Like I said, I'm not much of a gambler.:o

Anyone who would spend money in the casino in the hopes of a cheap cruise offer because of it is really stupid. The fact is nobody does that. Every person gambling in the casino does so with 1 of 2 goals. Either they truly believe it is possible for them to win some money or they simply enjoy the play and are only playing with the amount of money that they are willing to lose. I was offered a discount on a cruise but did not gamble with the intent of receiving one.

Nope the recipients aren't spending oodles of money. I submitted a post earlier which states that I have several family members who received up to three of these offers, this year alone. They are sailing on the Dream tomorrow. We sailed a family cruise a few years and for most of them, it was their first sailing with Carnival. From my synopsis I don't feel the offer is aimed to fill sailings. There is a recent round of offers but I think members are silenced because many ppl "felt some type of way" by the thought of spending thousands of dollars over the years, cruising with Carnival and have yet to received a free room. My aunt received this offer in Feb, April and has one now which requires her to book by the end of June and I think the sailing must be complete by November We did a four day on the Imagination in 2010 and she gambled a total of $150.00 for whole cruise. Since that cruise I have sailed on the Elation from Mobile, the Conquest from New Orleans and the Paradise last year from Tampa. Also that phrase listed above was intentional
