Check in problem for European guests

Hi, we have just booked our first cruise on Carnival and we are half way through the check in process.. I am asked for my Citizenship Information.

Will you be leaving the U.S. within 24 hours of when your cruise arrives?

I ticked No.

What will your local address be while you are in the United States?

This is the problem. We will embark on an NCL ship the same day we disembark from Carnival and we are flying home after we disembark on NCL.

I can't complete check in because of this. Is there any way around this or will we just check in at the pier and skip online check in?

What I meant was, will the NCL ship be leaving US waters within 24 hours of your Carnival ship arrival?

Almost all cruise ships make a beeline for international waters as fast as possible so they can open their casino even if their next port is Key West.

But if the second cruise is a loop cruise then you are not really leaving USA on paper or otherwise every US passenger would require a valid Passport!

The address in USA should have been the new cruiseline and departure/return port as the State.

My Australian Passport was not stamped as Exit USA at cruise port on leaving and was not stamped arrival USA when we returned, our loop cruise was classed as not leaving USA.

Dont forget your USA "ESTA"so many people leave it way too late only to find they cant travel to USA on ESTA and need a visa which takes a bit more time to get!

I find it strange that your passport was not stamped arrival into the US after the cruise. My wife is Canadian but lives in the US, and she has had her passport stamped with arrival back in the US on a couple of occasions.

But yes, they would be leaving the US, even on paper, by taking a cruise. Arriving in the US on a closed loop cruise is one of the exceptions to the passport rule.

Our passports were checked for original US entry stamp by cruise officials before embarkation at check-in and then sighted again by US immigration on return with no stamps of entry or exit added so technically I did not leave USA:confused:

I was given a departure card when I entered USA at LAX 2 weeks prior that was to be handed in at my exit from USA another 2 weeks after cruise,no additional exit card was required for the closed loop cruise.

I put my address in USA as Carnival Cruiselines and State as Long Beach C.A
