Ciscobelle Posted December 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Hi, going on our very first cruise with P&O in the new year. I have checked the rules and they say we may carry on board a small amount of alcohol for cabin consumption. Can anyone tell me what is a standard small amount, would it be one bottle each? I don't want to do anything naughty on my first ever cruise. Thank you

Remember that you can buy gin etc for about £22 a bottle, delivered to your cabin. Wine is a better bet, as the on board price is £13.00 upward. Some people take a wine box or a half dozen bottles. Perhaps better to wait untill a good port.

CCFC Posted December 23, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Can you fit a box of wine in the cabin fridge? Never tried but now curious.

graham44 Posted December 24, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2013 Can you fit a box of wine in the cabin fridge? Never tried but now curious. Yes you can, and we always do. 3 litre white wine box in the fridge, 3 litre red wine box in a cupboard close by. Ideal for sun-downers on the balcony when on a summer cruise. besberry Posted December 24, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 24, 2013 On my cruise in January I took on two wine boxes, a litre of Bombay Sapphire and 12 tonics. In New Zealand I brought on another box of wine! Mind you this was on a world cruise, I'd probably only take on a bottle (or two) of wine for a fortnight! And, in case you're asking, yes I did drink the lot and I helped sink the wine we won in the quizzes too :)

weliketocruise86 Posted December 27, 2013 #13 Share Posted December 27, 2013 So would it be reasonable to bring on board a 6 pack of beer each ? Never been on a cruiseline where this is allowed before so don't want to fall foul of the rules! Cheers;)
