Can anyone advise me on the best way to get to orlando international after my cruise on Allure at port Everglades. We have a hire car for the first week of our holiday so will drive to the port, but need to get back to Orlando for flight home.

I'm not sure of the transfer options from Port Everglades to Orlando. I'd probably do a one-way car rental. You can also ask on the Florida Departures board for more ideas:

We are renting a car from Alamo to return to the Orlando airport after our cruise. We got a one way rental for $69.00...Was cheaper then the shuttle for 4 of us and we have the luxury of taking our time getting to the airport.
