A St. John question

We arrive next week on Celebrity Reflection and have booked the St John on your own tour through the ship...essentially just a boat ride over and back. After reading posts on this board, a taxi tour ride sounds fine to see the island.....can you tell me about how long this will take? Will we still have time to hit the beach or should we just walk around the area near the ferry? The ferry leaves St Thomas at 10am and returns at 4pm

You should have plenty of time to hit the beach. Check with the driver, but most of those tours will allow you to be dropped off at a beach after you've done the island tour.

 

You will even have time for lunch!

How about taking the ship island tour ? Is it same thing like taking a taxi ?

When we read the do it on your own tour, we liked the idea of being able to decide what we wanted to do.....maybe a Island tour....maybe go to the beach for the day.... like the flexibility. We also have a good friend whose son lives on the Island and if he is free we might meet up with him....so think this fits our needs.

Most of the island tours are 2 hours. Trunk Bay always has taxis waiting to take people back to wherever whenever so that would be the best beach for those with limited time.
