Hotel maya info needed

This question is not about the price. From previous people who've stayed there, is it a nice hotel? Do they have a shuttle to the ship or do you take a taxi? Is it easy to get to downtown LB with no car?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

We're staying there Feb. 4th.

The hotel does have a shuttle to the Carnival pier. The hotel is close enough to walk, a bit more than a mile.

The Maya is on the Passport bus route. It is the free bus in Long Beach.

Google 'passport bus Long Beach' for the website.

It's a very nice hotel, has a modern urban eclectic vibe to it. Nice restaurant and bars as well as pool area. The rooms are quite large with balconies overlooking courtyards or the water. There are many photos, reviews and videos online about it.

We took a taxi van from the airport to the hotel. Then took the Long Beach free bus around town. It was all very simple and easy to navigate. Depending on your fitness level and where you want to go, you can walk to a lot of places. Next time, we will forgo the Passport bus and just walk. With all the stops it makes and it's zig-zag route, it's easier to use our own 2 feet.

The hotel has a shuttle to the dock that you have to register for when you arrive. No one told us this and we just showed up about 10am for the shuttle and they said it was full and we had to sign up for a different one. The next one wasn't for 2 hours so we just walked. It's a very easy and scenic walk. We did it with our luggage, a baby and an elderly person. No big deal.
