room stewards

It has been several years since I have sailed on Royal, do you get 1 room steward with an assistant on Royal? (2 people?) We have pre-paid our gratuities, but we sail with a 5 year old - so I like to give a bit extra. :) (So I need to know if I need to prepare for 1 or 2 people.)

Only one steward per room. You may have been thinking of the dining room - there you have a Waiter plus an Assistant Waiter.

You will only have one Stateroom Attendant throughout your cruise. The only time you will see multiple attendants in a given room is on turn-around day, but that obviously would not concern you.

 

However, in the Main Dining Room you will have Assistant Waiter, Waiter and Head Waiter. So if you plan on giving them an additional tip, plan accordingly with that.

If you are sailing with three persons in the cabin, regardless of age, you will be automatically be charged three gratuities per day on your account. No need to give extra unless you want to.

 

Sometimes the attendants have an assistant, sometimes not. You will not be charged extra for assistant cabin attendants.
