anltx Posted January 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Thank you in advance for any information or suggestions you can give. We will be sailing in March and one of our stops is Roatan. We will be traveling with our 13 month old. Most of the Roatan excursions offered by the ship are either 6 hrs long (too long for the baby to be away from the ship) or the excursion has a minimum age of 8 (understandably for snorkeling)... Is there any kind of easy access to a beach via taxi within 20 minutes of the ship? We want to enjoy the port, preferably a beach, but need something a little more independent and can get to on our way from the port with a 13 month old... Thank you for any help or suggestions! brookeq Posted January 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2014 We are using island marketing to go to west bay beach. They will meet us and take us to bananarama resort. They will also take us back to the ship when we are ready. What ship are you coming in? Carnival has a beach at their pier that you can walk to from the ship. It looks pretty nice I think where your ship docks determines how far the beach is for you.
OCruisers Posted January 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Anltx .... Welcome to Cruise Critic! :) Seems you're going to be on Caribbean Princess so your port stop will be at Mahogany Bay and you won't need to go anyplace. There's a nice beach right there in the port area (free chairs) which should work out well for you this time with the baby. LuLu ~~~~
watchdiva Posted January 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 4, 2014 If you're on Caribbean Princess no need to go anywhere. Just disembark and then either walk or take the chairlift to the beach at Mahogany Bay (which is where you will dock). It's a lovely beach with a few restaurants and perfect for those with small children - when they need their naptime just bundle them back into the stroller and back to the ship. Easy peasy!
