I booked this cruise in August last year balcony GE grade on Getaway price.

In November the price was reduced by a staggering £1000.I posted this on cruise critic at the time and complained to p&o by email and phone and was told that my case had been logged into case management system.

I have now been given an upgrade to GA cabin on Lido deck (welcome news)

Would I have been given this upgrade if I had not complained ?

Has anybody had any experience of these cabins as I understand that the balcony is part under shade

Well done on your upgrade. Hard to say if they have upgraded you because of your complaint or not.

 

GA cabins on Lido are in a great position. Superb location for the deck and you can walk (outside) to the buffet. Youre near the fore lifts that are least crowded and the views from the balcony should be great being that high up.

 

There is a slight overhang, only a bit more than over say A or B deck cabins as there is a walkway above. Its nothing like the overhang over most Riviera deck cabins.
