NashSmartGuy Posted January 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2014 Well, we recently booked our trip, and we're very excited, even though it's quite a while until we sail. I didn't see another Roll Call thread for our cruise, so I thought I'd start one! Best wishes, and bon voyage!
JasYHZ Posted May 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2014 Wow - seems like a quiet sailing! Hi NashGuy! Jason and Robert here from Halifax, Nova Scotia. We're travelling with our friends Betty & Garry and are looking forward to the break after a busy summer. Keep in touch!
NashSmartGuy Posted June 16, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted June 16, 2014 Yes, it does seem quiet on this forum. Oh, well. Best wishes to you guys, and we will see you in Rome!
Panzano Posted June 18, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2014 Hi guys, Bob and Reymon, from Wilton Manors, FL here. Booked this trip last December and really looking forward to it. We haven't booked any excursions yet but will probably get on that within the next month or so. We're flying on Alitalia from Miami and arrive in Rome on Sunday the 5th. We'll stay in Rome that night and probably take the train to the dock the morning of the 6th. We're also planning on spending 3 nights in Rome when we disembark on the 17th. We look forward to staying in touch and meeting you in October. R&B
JasYHZ Posted August 6, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) Hi Boys, We're at the two month mark (well, maybe a little less for those of us flying over early and technically the sailing day is tomorrow but what the hell.....) and I'm just starting to finalize the little details like shore excursions. We have a nice OBC from our travel agent that we're going to use to cover the cost of most of our excursions. Plus being in a lot of countries where English is NOT the first language having a Celebrity tour gives is a little piece of mind. We also have our Classic Beverage Package included but the first stop once we board will be a bar or Guest Relations to use some more of the OBC to upgrade it to the Premium package. My martini's aren't cheap :) That's where you'll find Robert and I most nights (along with Betty as Garry leaves her is our care while he goes to the casino) from 10PM onward :) Just reconfirmed flights and found a few small schedule changes; check your flights to make sure it's nothing major. I reconfirmed all; hotels as well as we're spending a few days in Italy on the way over and back; what are everyone's travel plans? It may be neat to meet up on some flights if any match up? I just noticed Panzano that you are sort of doing a few of the same days we are :) Not sure of our stateroom yet; we booked a Suite Guarantee and nothing has been assigned yet. We've also booked the train for all of our intra-Italy travel; it's as cheap as hell and most of the runs are shortish. We did splurge for 1st Class on the high speed train to Venice at the end of the trip. As of now the rough itinerary is as follows: 03OCT Halifax to Rome (WestJet and British Airways via Toronto and London) 04OCT Rome to Florence (train) 06OCT Florence to Civitavecchia (train) 06OCT-17OCT Cruise 17OCT Civitavecchia to Rome (train) 20OCT Rome to Venice (train) 22OCT Venice to Halifax (WestJet and British Airways via London and Toronto) Take a look at the other main thread on this cruise; one lady (female Garry) is doing a lot of work as the mail roll call organizer of the trip and her and her husband have a great website for sharing rides and stuff. a TON of good info. Hope to see the thread get a little more active over the next few weeks. Jason (& Robert) Edited August 6, 2014 by JasYHZ
NashSmartGuy Posted August 12, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted August 12, 2014 We are very excited about the trip. We are flying in the morning of departure (risky, perhaps, but hopefully not). Our flight gets in somewhere around 7:30 a.m., so we should have plenty of time. We're staying on one night in Rome after the cruise. We were in Rome, Florence, and Venice three years ago, so we didn't really need much post cruise touring. I do love Florence, though, and would love to go back one day. I hope you are all well. Safe travels!
