Arubalisa Posted February 8, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2014 Renaissance day pass is now $99 per person How to Get There: This resort is set just two miles from port. A taxi is your best bet. FWIW, the resort is less than a quarter mile away. The private island itself may be 2 miles away, but you need a boat to get there. Transfer by boat is included with the price of the day pass. The boat will pick you up right inside the lobby of the Renaissance Marina Tower lobby where you would purchase the pass at the front desk. :D Besides the Riu I mentioned in your previous post, I searched here in the forum for you... Is the renaissance hotel the only one that takes you to the private Island 2 miles away or does it belong to all the hotels. Is that island worth the trip? Nevermind I saw your 411 link :) Thanks for all your help Edited March 3, 2014 by puggleperson

Mrs CruisinCritter Posted March 3, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 3, 2014 Thank you Arubalisa for providing so much info about Aruba!! You have helped me decide to do a day pass at the Occidental Grand Aruba when we visit in May because the resort looks beautiful! We will have our 2 1/2 yo son with us and I am curious about how the day pass works. I assume that the availability is based on how booked up the resort is. If we get there and get turned away, is there anything nearby that we could do or a beach that we can access? This will be our first time in Aruba and I just want to make sure that we don't get lost with our son in tow. :o
Arubalisa Posted March 4, 2014 #11 Share Posted March 4, 2014 You are welcome. I always recommend having a plan B ;) In your case, next door to the Occidental is the Radisson. At the far southern end of their beach there are two vendors who rent chaises and and umbrellas. There is food and beverage at Bugaloe on the end of De Palm Pier. I feel much better about trying to get a day pass at the Occidental and having an alternative just in case. I'm great with doing things on the fly when it's just me and hubby, but when little man is with us, I like to have a plan just in case. Thank you again!
