Sorry that it took me a long time to get the definitive answer on this.

Jaime tells me that she will be back on the Carnival Sunshine on March 30th. So, unfortunately, you're going to miss her.

The good news is that Butch will be your CD... and he is one of the best!

She is very good, but sometimes she doesn't know when to stop talking.

Also, someone needs to teach her the proper way to do the YMCA dance. Her "M" is the monkey. We have seen The Village People twice in the past two years at EPCOT's Flower and Garden Show and they are very clear that people need to stop doing the M over their head. The M is dropped down in front of your crest. She looks like a fool doing the monkey M!

imo that's rather contradictory to the band's message over the years that has morphed into inclusion & celebrating freedom of choice.

The now-standard dance uses the M above the head to be consistent with the other letters & it's certainly easier to see/follow in a crowd.

The group performing @ Disney World aren't founding members of The Village People. It's nice to see somebody bought the rights to the name;)& is continuing the fun tradition, but I certainly wouldn't call them the definitive lineup.

fyi, in the official original video there was just clapping & dancing...no hand signs for the letters of YMCA.

Looking forward to monkey'ing around with CD Jaime in less than a month!

Wrong you are. The GI (Alex Briley) & Indian (Felipe Rose) are still remaining original members. The cop (Ray Simpson - lead singer) has been with the group since 1980 when Victor Willis left. David Hodo the construction worker sang last year at EPCOT (not an original, but was in the group when YMCA was introduced.) The cowboy and the biker have been around since the 90's. Your facts are WRONG. The group playing at Disney are considered to the original group. Not a TRIBUTE band or some group that bought the rights and have maybe one member. Example: "The Orchestra - with former members of ELO". They play at EPCOT as well, but can not call themselves ELO. There is no legalese in then name of The Village People. In other words this is the original group!

The group has been preforming at Disney some 25+ years. They typically play at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Event in the spring.

Before shooting a comment, you should know the facts. But now you do know the facts.

I even have video of the Village People telling people to stop doing the M as a monkey, it is WRONG and Jamie (CD) was doing it WRONG. During the Mardi Gras party they did the YMCA song at the end. Jamie was doing it wrong, but most of the Carnival Dancers, which are professional and trained, were doing the M like it is suppose to be done.

You are right the original music video had no arm signs. It was just them singing on the streets of NYC

So, the next time you do the YMCA song, I trust you will not do the monkey and do the M correctly. Otherwise, you will be WRONG and look foolish like Jamie when she does her monkey imitation.

foolish is a subjective term, disrespectful to use in general to describe another; moreso imo when aimed towards a representative of the ship who is trying very hard to entertain.

Certainly, you are entitled to your opinion and I'm not going to engage you since you obviously have very strong opinions on this matter. However, it begs to be stated that having only two remaining members in any group does not equate the original lineup no matter how you wish it so.

Have always found it interesting that The Village People were one of 1st boy bands (alternative that went mainstream) that was assembled with dancers to support the club act of the lead singer Willis.

OT - not locals but we are in the Orlando area often & have enjoyed our share of the bands & Candlelight Processionals @ Epcot over many years. it's certainly a nice perk included with admission. I give props to anybody who works in the industry in whatever capacity, including the Disney entertainers, way overworked and underpaid for the joy they give.:).
