Is your daughter verbal?

 

If your daughter is verbal, teach her to find a mother if she needs help. Statistically speaking, a mother won't harm a child she doesn't know.

 

Also, if you're a reader, "Protecting the Gift" is a great book and will help with your anxieties.

 

Thank you. Yes, she is very verbal! That's a great idea! Also whenever we go places, we usually prepare her by showing her who the employees are, and what type of clothes they wear. I appreciate the help!

I don't know about other ships, but on the Dream, there is a boys and girls bathroom as well as several sinks (outside the bathroom). There is always water and cups available as well. There were only 2 activities during the week that required sign out privileges and that was a scavenger hunt and swimming. My 10yo did the all ages scavenger hunt with her siblings and skipped swimming because she is not a strong swimmer + no life guard on duty. No way I was allowing swimming without myself or my husband present.

 

My kids always enjoyed camp. Our friends were on their first cruise ( with us) and their children loved it as well. I was a little surprised since the little girl (7) doesn't usually venture off to things like this.

 

We did Night Owls (10pm-12) on two of the nights for $13 per child, but that was the only "pay for" thing that we did. They had "Build-a-Bear" and also 12-3am babysitting. Since it was supposed to be a port intensive cruise, we did not stay up after 12. As fate would have it though, we missed 2 ports and got poured on at the 3rd. Still glad that I didn't have tired crabby kids :)
