What were the ship sketches...?

My Dad was on the phone a little while ago asking me if I remember the 14x17" drawings or art prints of the ship that they used to give out on the Carnival ships? He just uncovered some in his house. He thinks they used to give them out to the guests in the dining room.

I don't recall them myself.

Yes, I do remember receiving them on our first few Carnival Cruises. Don't remember when they stopped it, but it has been a few years.

I have a few from the Victory. Honestly, they look like the paper place-mats you might see at a restaurant. Nice enough, but no big deal. Mine have been lying in the bottom of a drawer for nearly 12 years. One of those many things people collect, too nice to throw away, but no use for them either.

I only have the ones from our first cruise. After that they seemed to quit giving them out. I used one as the "cover" of the scrapbook I made for the trip. It really does make a cute cover and I know exactly which book it is!

Oh yeah!

We had one from our Legend cruise. Forgot all about it!

Yes, they gave them out in the MDR. I think we had our waiter sign ours.

I don't remember what I did with it though. Probably got thrown out when we re did our bedroom.

OP, thanks for posting!

I remember those - kind of like a line drawing of the ship on a paper placemat. Your waiter gave it to you on the last night after dinner. I know I have one from the Miracle and possibly one from the Liberty. I also have paper docs from that first Miracle cruise before you did them online along with the old style luggage tags they sent you. They came in a little booklet like a checkbook that was mailed to you or your TA. I think the placemats were phased out sometime in the 2007/ early 2008 time frame.

I remember the paper docs and luggage tags too!! They came in the mail from Carnival.

To Starlight, I would scan and post here, but I don't have my drawing anymore.

We received one on the Imagination in January of 2007 but not on the Fascination in August that same year. Must have stopped giving them out sometime in 2007...

I will see if I can find it downstairs with all of our past vacation stuff and maybe post my first ever picture on here. :D

Here is what I found from our January 2007 Imagination cruise:

- Paper documents that had been mailed.

- Real luggage tags that were mailed to you in advance.

- Copies of the Carnival Capers (not the FunTimes)

- $1 Imagination Casino chip

- Plastic room key with holes punched in it. Sail and sign was not used for room key.

- Very nice map of the ship compared to what is given out now.

Sadly, I did not find the watercolor/portrait of the ship. I will ask the wife tomorrow since she is the one who keeps most of that stuff organized. Finding things like real documents makes me sad realizing how much has changed even in just 7 years.

We have our prints from our first cruise on the Paradise in 2004. Our head waiter and waiter signed them. They gave them out on the last night in the dining room after dinner. I remember that I cried when they sang "Leaving our Cruise Ship". It was our first cruise and still our favorite...no smoking!! But most of all we were treated like royalty! We also have the books from the Paradise and the Pride. Our stewards let us take them. We sailed on Victory in 2011 but sadly, no book:( We still love Carnival (leaving in 13 days for our 35th anniversary). We also still have our documents and tags which were mailed to us for the Paradise. I'm so glad we had that experience. Thanks for the good memories.
