Econo Lodge Anchorage...where to eat???

Whirlwind

Recommended Posts

We stayed at the Econo Lodge in June. It was clean, but a little funky and "far from the ritz". The room had a portable (freestanding) air conditioner, and a small fridg. Outlets were minimal ( had to unplug the fridge to charge the cell phone!) I don't recall any restaurants in the immediate area, because we had a car drove to dinner downtown, it would be a long walk but you could get a cab. The Econo Lodge does have muffins and coffee in the morning. If you sign up the night before, the econo lodge van will take you to the train station in the morning to get the train. They insisted that we had to leave for the train at 5:30 AM, but its only about a 5 minute ride. (It was actually very crowded at the train station, with a long line to pick up boarding passes.) They will also pick you up at the airport, their van is not posh but it does the trick. E-Mail me if you have any questions! Joan
