marycwilmes Posted January 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2014 Is it far? Is there a bus? Can you walk? We have 6 people on a budget. We would like to find a local guide to take us to the turtles. Is that a certain part of the bay?

It is not very far from the cruise terminal and depending on your mobility, I believe it is quite walkable, just walk along the boardwalk and over the chamberlain bridge and walked for about 5 minutes or so and you are right there. I believe there are vendors there who can take you out to swim with the turtles.

We would like to find a local guide to take us to the turtles. Is that a certain part of the bay? We got there later in the day, around 230. There were people walking the beach asking if anyone wanted to go out and see the turtles and snorkel over a shipwreck. It was 15$pp. The other family on our glass bottom boat paid 22$ each. There were only 2 turtles left the guide said there are more in the morning, but they all get full from being fed all morning. It was fun and lasted about an hour. The taxi ride back was 5$ each. But it would be walkable too.
