Stone crab lunch suggestions

I am looking forward to my cruise which includes the port of key west. I really LOVE stone crab and what better place to have a great stone crab meal than in Key West. While not committed to doing so, my plan is enjoying some time on the the hop on hop off tour and then a great lunch. Which restaurants relatively close to a hop on/off stop would you suggest for fresh stone crab? If there's a restaurant not near a stop, but far and away a great place to enjoy stone crab, I am equally interested in knowing about it too.

I would suggest taking the City View Trolley and getting off at stop #7 for lunch at http://www.halfshellrawbar.com/ which is located at the end of Margaret St.

 

The Half Shell Raw Bar serves more seafood than any other restaurant on the island so freshness is never a problem.

Walk, don't run or trolley, to the beach-side bar at the Pier House, 1 Duval Street, for crab legs. Curiously, I've found them to be the least expensive there than other places, but drinks will be more expensive, but the view is very nice.

Camille's has all you can eat crab legs for $24.95 often but who wants to eat something caught in Alaska that has been frozen for months while in Key West?

The Stoned Crab restaurant at Ibis Bay Resort has stone crab claws. I don't know if this is close to a trolley stop though?

Regular crab legs at the Half Shell Raw Bar. They used to have all-you-can-eat on Wednesday nights.

I can see why they are cheaper than Half Shell as they are half the size.

 

If I am going to eat stone crab it will be jumbo or colossal claws.:D

I've had stone crabs twice this season at Alonzo's - they were good.

I rarely eat stone crab out but rather go to Fishbusterz or Rusty Anchor's seafood markets on Stock Island where you can buy for less than half the price of the restaurants.

 

Of course I eat twice as much then as well.:D
