prekteacher Posted January 20, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 20, 2014 How did you enjoy your CP room? My family has 2 CP adjoining rooms booked for Thanksgiving week and I have read very mixed reviews. Did you sit out on the balcony at all? Any pictures? Hope your trip was great and I look forward to reading your review. Thanks, Barb
Iceberg2 Posted January 20, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 20, 2014 I also just returned from this cruise... we boarded a little after 11 and cabin was ready at 1 p.m. the captain was emphatic about enforcing the new smoking rules ... at the captain's corner he claimed the surveys showed the majority of pax did not want smoking on balconies , etc .. cruise was excellent,, the shows fanastic, weather couldn't be better.. seas were calm.. except for one nite which i slept thru that the captain said the winds caused us to be late for St. Thomas but to compensate we didn't leave st. thomas till 7:30... he discussed the azipod situation in detail there were 1800 kids on this cruise and the ship was kept immaculate.. there was always plenty of staff around...never saw kids in the solarium area, excpt at tables having breakfast or lunch but never around the pool or hot tub areas I'm looking forward to the review :) Our cabin steward told us our neighbor was already warned and sure enough they were smoking cigarettes again - we notified her and a supervisor came into to our room to confirm and they were fined $250 - the people were from Brazil and maybe smoking is not frowned upon as much - but unfortunately they thought nothing would happen. Getting out of the elevator a young lady smoking one of these fancy faux cigarettes and was quite rude when told that this was not allowed. Not everyone would agree with us, but we wanted a smoke free balcony and room - it was bad enough having to walk through the smoking section of the casino or on the deck upstairs. ChipLondon Posted January 20, 2014 #30 Share Posted January 20, 2014 No they are not, and I saw several people being asked to cease using them, although I think they are an excellent alternative to the real smelly things.:D And would not object to them being used  are e cigs not allowed? Majestic Posted January 21, 2014 #35 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Also just off this cruise. We had great weather while the USA had polar cold weather. I was told by head waiter that there were 2100 Ameticans, with rest being from South America and Japan. Everyone had a great time. Many kuds as Brazil was on break. Brazilians eat later and stay up later . We were surprised at the young kids at quest. After many warnings parents kept their young children there. To each their own. Everything was great except for a rude guest service person....blond and pretty but...oh well. All other were over the top polite and helpful. Late arrival at st Thomas was not good as extra hour was in the dark. Love the allure and so will you. Guest Services need a new name,......no service...just a line when you ask for help , can't help you. Many guests missed the cruise due to all the flights being cancelled. Many room stewards told us they had empty rooms this cruise. Guest serviced.......we are sailing full. Just didn't want the hassle if helping anyone change to a better room. Ps. I said...we would pay.
