johnsak123 Posted January 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Does anyone know exactly how the Casino figures out your discount I know it is different for everyone depending on your play. Is there one formula they use Is it different for a single traveler opposed to a couple I called CAS and spoke to different people who gave me different prices for the same cabin on the same sailing day Any thoughts? Cheers!!
garycarla Posted January 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2014 Pretty sure it is a closely held formula and it is not shared. I will say that it varies depending on not only the specific cruise, but how it is selling. If they are trying to fill cabins, the price that CAS "pays" for the room will go down. If they ship is near full, CAS will "pay" more for the room. And therefore the offer you get will move around. I would also expect the "approval process" will move around during the day as well. Not sure, but I think that every single time I called, I was always put on hold while the person got the rate. This leads me to believe it is not in the computer, but a manager is making the call. Not sure, but after maybe a dozen calls for comp rooms, this is what seems to happen.
johnsak123 Posted January 17, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 17, 2014 I will definitely agree that you are put on hold and the manager gives you the rate What has happened in the past is that I travel with a very high roller and he gets a rate that is higher than mine and I in no way , shape, or form gamble anywhere near what he does. I am talking maybe I gamble less than 2000 to his 10,000 so I just don't understand how it works

This is easily as important as the amounts played. I'm not often put on hold for a rate, occasionally, but not often. I deal exclusively with two reps, who are truly wonderful, and they have my comp value pretty much immediately, usually calculate the upgrades I request very quickly, within a minute or two.
