cr83687 Posted January 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2014 We are going to be on the Sappshire in a couple of weeks and would like to ask how the casino works. Do you use cash in the slots or do they pay for points...? Thanks
Coveguy4 Posted January 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2014 You can put cash in OR take money off your shipboard account. Either way when you cash out you have to put on your card and cash out at casino cashier.
CruisingJs Posted January 18, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2014 You set up your cruise card with a PIN number. All your winnings (you hope) are deposited on the card and you pull it out on the next machine. You can also charge it to your ship account. It's really convenient. Just make sure to cash out at the casino cashier on the last night. There is no way to collect your money after that.
waterbugohio Posted February 4, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2014 So you can decide if you want to bring extra cash for the casino, or you can just charge it to the room account?? Is that correct?? Taking our first cruise on Princess (have always done RCI) and just want to know if I still need to plan for extra cash for the casino
CruisingJs Posted February 4, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2014 Yes. You can also buy casino credits ahead of time by calling Princess. That's what I do. You will find vouchers in your cabin when you board and you just take them to the casino cashier and exchange them for cash.

Great way to go, and very convenient...
Coveguy4 Posted February 4, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 4, 2014 Also, when I've been lucky with a big win, you do get the old 1099 tax info and a pay out at the cashier, It's not put on your cruise card .....
