LiseD Posted January 18, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2014 We will be staying 2 nights in London before a July cruise. There are 4 of us...bringing our twin daughters. It is not easy finding rooms where all 4 of us can stay together. Premier has a family room and Blackfriars would be $93 (dollars less for 2 nights) Is that worth the savings? or $46 per night. Is County Hall a better location or easier to get around? Thanks for the insight.
Rare John Bull Posted January 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2014 IMHO County Hall is much the better Location. Right by London Eye & tour boats, just across the bridge from Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall, Churchill's War Rooms, 10 Downing St, Horse Guards Parade, Trafalgar Square - all walkable within 15 min or less. Good riverside bars & restaurants too. And five minutes walk to Waterloo (trains to Southampton) & Waterloo East (trains to Dover). Premier Inn Blackfriars is in the commercial & lawyers' part of central London. St Paul's is easily walkable, Covent Garden & theatreland are a 20 minute walk. The immediate area is pretty dead at night. That said, no location is ideal for all the sights, & by using the tube (London's metro) any two places within central London are no more than ten or fifteen minutes apart. :) JB :)
epixx Posted January 19, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2014 The PI Blackfriars has AC, which the PI County Hall does not. We were in London in early August last year, and I believe I would have been miserable without AC.
LiseD Posted January 19, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted January 19, 2014 Wow...had not thought about AC.....are there fans in the room?
epixx Posted January 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Note that you cannot book a single room for two adults and two 20 year olds at any Premier Inn. The maximum age for "children" sharing parents' room is 15 (i.e., under 16).
LiseD Posted January 20, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Think I am going to book elsewhere.....we don't want to book 2 rooms. Too bad as it looks like it would have fit our needs otherwise!!
