ariawoman Posted January 29, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Did they actually manage to upgrade the systems on Oasis and Allure to be able to handle that kind of load? If so, that proves it can be done! I'd be interested to hear from someone who has recently been on either ship and find out what service was like. Limited internet access is my least favorite part of cruising. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Forums mobile app I was on the Oasis this past December and the speed was really good. I didn't notice any downgrade in speed from other ships, and to me, it felt more like land than other ships have. My friend got the unlimited access, she used it on her phone, her laptop, her ipad. Rare OceanCruise Posted January 30, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We really limited our internet usage only to our 90 minutes (each) of free internet (as Elite) to check email every other day. We did not want to come home to hundreds of emails waiting for us and were able to quickly screen for any urgent business matters and check on our flights. Tommy3putts Posted January 30, 2014 #28 Share Posted January 30, 2014 It's all about the satellites, coverage area and the antennas. Demand far exceeds supply on the open seas. It will get better but easy cheap FAST internet is still years away.
