cmarkovsky Posted January 20, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 20, 2014 I will preface the by saying at I have done my research on this. I have not been able to get a clear answer on how they are now handling this. We booked with CAS in December and were given a 20% discount off of the going rate. I visited NCL.com last night to see how our cruise was selling and was shocked to see that the prices had dropped substantially. If we booked today we would have saved $1200. (Note to anyone considering a suite in the Epic in Feb - now is the time). We are a family in a 2 bedroom so there is no chance of an upgrade. Do we have a shot at any OBC and if so what would be the best way to go about it? Thanks in advance.
Alliezona09 Posted January 20, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Call CAS and see what they'll do, they probably won't give OBC for the difference but they might be able to upgrade you~whoops sorry skipped the part about the 2bedroom~ call anyway and see what they can do for you~ Edited January 20, 2014 by Alliezona09
MiDenny Posted January 20, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2014 We are booked through CAS for a Mini-Suite on Epic March 9. In the weeks leading up to final payment, we also found substantially reduced fares. Our PCC adjusted our fare and told us to keep an eye on them before our December 24 final payment date. He told us that he could adjust any rates prior to the date. But after the 24th, his hands were tied. He said that it may be possible to gain an upgrade. We understood that to mean that there would be no more adjustments, OBC or otherwise after final payment. Not what you wanted to hear, and I could be wrong. But, can't hurt to ask them anyway. rhiannon35 Posted January 20, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 20, 2014 Thank you for the replies. I just got off the phone and was given $500 OBC. Always good to ask :). Any tips cmarkovsky on how to go about asking? I am experiencing a similar situation with our upcoming Getaway cruise...my TA is going to call, but he also advised me to. Not sure if it's better to be sweet or angry:confused:
cmarkovsky Posted January 21, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted January 21, 2014 As in most situations I would go with sweet. I was somewhat 'bewildered' that the price had dropped so dramatically and wondered if there was anything they could do. I was sweet, they were sweet and now we have fun money :). Good luck! cabincop Posted January 21, 2014 #12 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I am confused also, I just came off a cruise thru CAS there is no OBC when CAS gives you a discounted cruise, and you said you had a pcc thru CAS?
vandals04 Posted January 21, 2014 #13 Share Posted January 21, 2014 TA's cannot book through CAS. It new to me but you can now get OBC through CAS.
cmarkovsky Posted January 21, 2014 Author #14 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I booked directly with CAS and was given a PCC. He originally found $150 in OBC - not sure how and that was the first time that it had happened. I had his extension so was able to contact him directly. I hope that clears it up. rhiannon35 Posted January 21, 2014 #15 Share Posted January 21, 2014 this confused me also...OP did you book directly with CAS ? or another TA? My mistake...I didn't even digest it was a CAS booking. Many of us with upcoming Getaway sailings are finding prices dropped dramatically from when we booked. That's what you get for skimming through posts when you are riled up! Sorry for the confusion. Clem Kadiddlehopper Posted January 22, 2014 #16 Share Posted January 22, 2014 OK I am a tad ignorant as to this discussion but what exactly is CAS and how does one book through CAS and get these deals? :)
garycarla Posted January 22, 2014 #17 Share Posted January 22, 2014 OK I am a tad ignorant as to this discussion but what exactly is CAS and how does one book through CAS and get these deals? :) I wonder how long this was going to take? A quick search shows that CAS is Casinos at Sea. They give a discount for PAST cruisers based on their PAST play.
