Which currency to take?

Not sure if the places you're going widely accepts USD. On International trips I have taken in the past, I bring as little as foreign currencies as possible because I didn't get good exchange rate from my banks or other currency exchange places. So I used my Master card that did not charge foreign transaction fees and offered a better exchange rate. May be this will work for you.

Yes, we use VND in Vietnam. Good to be a millionaire for a while ;)

Depends how many days you're in Indonesia, but we stuck with USD -prices quoted by taxi drivers & tourist shops & bars are usually in USD & they're very widely accepted. One less currency to worry about. And Indonesia is so cheap (even cheaper than Vietnam) that exchange rates aren't a problem.

JB :)
