beachclubgirl Posted January 26, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 26, 2014 No and no. Only one person can buy, or you can buy different packages. No they don't Thank you both for the quick replies! I like that they don't make everyone in your cabin choose the same package!
zombiehunter Posted January 26, 2014 #28 Share Posted January 26, 2014 If you are only planning to drink alcohol on a couple days, just buy drinks "a la carte"...pay as you go. To get the value from the alcohol packages, you need to drink EVERY day...and quite a bit! I disagree. Mixed drink = $7.50 Glass of wine = $10 Beer = $5 Soda = $2? Bottle Water = $5 everywhere I went Do your own math but conservative drinking here and there with one or two benders and this thing pays for itself. Added value in knowing what you're spending and not worrying/thinking about it as you go.
Vonodin Posted January 26, 2014 #29 Share Posted January 26, 2014 It adds up...don't forget, if you drink soda or bottled water or nonalcoholic frozen drinks like smoothies during the day, those are also included. I usually get the soda package, so that's $6.50 plus tip, or $7.50 give or take. Subtract that off the top and you're looking at a little over $48 as the remaining cost of the Premium package. All you'd need to drink is 4 $10 glasses of wine a day, or an equivalent mixture of beer, wine, and cocktails, to get pretty darn close to breaking even when you figure in the tip. We don't drink that much during an ordinary week, but on vacation, especially a cruise, we do. I also like the idea that we can sample a few drinks that we might not ordinarily try if we were going to be spending an additional $7-8 per drink. Agreed! Just buy the package! These threads always crack me up. How much are you already into the cruise for? 3, 4, 5K? So what if you miss by a drink or two,(say $135 vs. $140), you may be out a whole $5! My DW and I drink enough coffee, non-alcoholic drinks, water and coke products when we are on the ship, that I am not worried what I owe at the end since I have already paid for most beverages. I do not drink alcohol, however, my DW will have a glass of wine with dinner. (We bring the two bottles of wine aloud on board which helps off set the glass price.) Enjoy the cruise!
