What are the logistics for a town car pickup after cruise?

If we get a towncar/limo to pick us up at the port after the cruise, are there any issues I need to know about? Any clue as to what location they would pick us up? Thanks in advance.

We did this once, and the company gave us the cell phone number of the driver and told us to call him when we got off the ship. The driver and I then communicated about where to pick up. They do this all the time, so it was easy-peasy.:) I think we used Larry's Limos in Ft. Lauderdale, but can't remember for sure.

I was actually wondering if cabs are readily available at the port. We will be going to the Fort Lauderdale airport after the cruise to pick up a rental car and were planning to take a cab there, or is it necessary to reserve a car service ahead of time?

No need to rent a car at the Fort Lauderdale airport.

Save the price of a taxi & rent locally.

Almost all the major agencies have offices near the

pier area. Search for Port Everglades/cruise pier locations

They provide shuttle van pick up at the piers &

deliver to the local rental location.

When you are through you can drop the car at the airport.

We rented once at the pier location. Had to wait 20 minutes for the shuttle and when we got to the rental location, they were waiting for more cars. After that we pay the $20 cab fare to the airport. The car is in the slot we were told on the email. Last time we got off the ship at 8:05 and were heading north on the turnpike at 8:45.

I already reserved a car with Royal, who are located in FLL airport. Best price around, by far! I will spend to $20 to get to the airport by taxi, after saving nearly 50% by renting with Royal, as opposed to all of the other rental car agencies!
