EliteQueen Posted January 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2014 We are booked into room 7150 and my parents in 7677 on the Fantasy. We've cruised twice before but we were midship. I'm concerned about movement. Should I be?
moki'smommy Posted January 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2014 No, While it is true that forward and aft have slightly more movement than midship, the ships have amazing stabilizers. Normally, movement is mild and minimal. Yes, we've had some very rough seas during storms, but the captain will do whatever he can to avoid that. Moomin2009 Posted January 23, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 23, 2014 We are just back from our first cruise and were in 7672. I was surprised as how much movement we felt and I don't think it was particularly rough. You could definitely feel it when laid in bed which I hadn't expected on such a large ship. Loonbeam Posted January 23, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2014 It really depends on the seas. In quiet seas you won't feel a thing. If the ship is moving into/across the waves, fore and aft cabins will feel the motion (this happened to us coming back into NYC with 20 footers. Oy!). If the ship is cutting diagonally to waves and wind, upper deck cabins may feel some motion, even midships. That said, for the most part, while fore and aft will feel a little motion, most people won't notice the difference in normal seas. People lower aft sometimes report sensing engine/wake vibrations.
