From RCCL thread on Cruise Critic:

Deployment schedule: let the guessing begin!

Looks like Independence is coming to Galveston in 2015.

Navigator is out of San Juan in April/May2015.

Sounds great. Also that would explain Sabor on the Navigator

Galveston Ships:

All indications from what others are told on returning ships...and others research, observations and posts

is the Independence by default relative to present known deployments.

We shall see?

Definitely will be a larger ship, if port builds larger terminal by agreement.

And it will happen with the agreement.

The only Classes available then can be Freedom, Quantum or Oasis.

Presently there are 3 new Quantum ships being built

and a 4th option for an Oasis Class ship.

So some day we may see a Quantum or Oasis out of Galveston.

RCCL did not excercise the option on fourth Quantum recently.

I have photos from Sunday of Magic leaving and turning around in the basin,

visually there appears to be ample ample space for those ships to turn.

I will post my photo and

another site with air photo of surface view of channel reflecting same.

If our friends let me? They haven't been kind to me lately either.

Hi, All. I want to do a fall TA back to Galveston 2015. Any idea when booking will begin? Other TA's we have done have been announced late, such as the Navigator TA. I waited and waited and got up early for a month to go online to try to book. I'm talking the new bigger ship, hopefully Independence.

Thanks, Mary

I guess I'll have to do the up-at-dawn-hoping-to-book thing again. You know I want that aft corner!

Margee

We'll take the other:D

Don't know if they are the same configuration on the Freedom Class.

Will have to do some research.

You were right! It's on the front page of the CC website! Doesn't say which ship, just a bigger one which will be deployed after $10 million in enhancements to the cruise terminal.

By default of other ships known deployments and timing of deployments,

and staff member on Independence,

saying it coming to Galveston,

And with new ships available to other ports.

It's looking that way .

We shall see soon???

When we were on the Liberty the loyalty ambassador from the Indy was filling in for the regular one.

We asked her that we had heard a rumour that a Freedom class ship was coming to Galveston.

She had a surprised look, like how did you know. Just smiled and said she couldn't say anything.

She was very sweet and easy on the eyes;)
