Recent winter breakaway cruisers

Going on breakaway next month out of NYC, anyone who has sailed recently I have a couple questions....

Do you remember if the hot tubs were open during sail away?

Did your cruise skip great stirrup cay due to weather?

Was there a lot of ship rocking coming up and down the Atlantic?

Anything I should know or prepare for?

Thanks!

I went in October, not as recent but was the same itinerary. The hot tubs were open on our cruise for sailaway. Luckily we had great weather at GSC (was also by bday which the weather helped make a great day!) The first day we felt like the capt booked it the first night, causing me to feel extremely sea sick while eating in the Manhatten room, I rarely feel anything when cruising. I'd say it was to get us to wake up in warm weather, bc we were in SC the next morning and had 70-80 sunny weather!

The ship has great entertainment and activities to dom, though these are about the ONLY time it feels crowded as everyone tries to get the best view. Normally I'd never have a problem getting chairs, a hot tub with room, time on the rope coarse, etc. The casino is also veryyy crowded, especially on the lower $ tables, should be bigger to accomidate 4000 passangers, but if you keep looking you can always find room after a bit. If dancing is your thing your in for a big disappointment as the night life past midnight is horrible. The "new bliss" is small and not the same as on other ships, the music seemed to always be tailored towards the older crowds until it got late. I've gone in close to 2am and seen barely anyone there, which was never the case on any other ship in NCL's fleet.

All in all, it was an amazing cruise! Despite my few "issues", which every ship on any line will have, everyone with us had a blast and will continue to cruise NCL ships until I'm too broke to afford them!

We sailed Nov 10. Good weather. Sunny and 78° in Nassau. Too windy to tender at GSC. Spent the night in Nassau. We had an angled balcony on Deck 13, and did not notice a lot of rocking.

Even in good weather, the Waterfront was not crowded. With such great access to the Waterfront and lots of comfortable places to sit, makes me wonder why a balcony cabin is needed -- especially since most of the regular balconies are tiny.

Didn't notice hot tubs -- not a fan.

I was on the Breakaway 12/8 when the snow storm hit the East Coast. The hot tubs were open during the sail away. It was cold on deck but very festive passing NYC skyline, etc. Did not notice any rocking cruising south or north. We had great weather at all ports. No problems at Stirrup Cay. Just about an hour delay getting off the ship. Enjoy!

Hi,

Was the ship decorated for the holidays? We might be booking for 12/7/14!

Love Wildwood!

I went on the January 5th 12 Day cruise on the Breakaway.

We had very smooth cruising, no major movement to mention that was more than other cruises I have been on in the winter.

Don't know about the hot tubs, but I took my morning swim on the last day at sea before we arrived back in NYC.

The pool was heated and the air a bit chilly!! :D
