platinum.wannabe Posted January 30, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 30, 2014 I think it is! We have it for our upcoming cruise. I think it's worth it for the ability to have early access to my cabin and be able to put down my carry-ons and the carry-ons of my 3 littles who will be taking their first cruise. :) I also like the fact that our luggage will come sooner and I can get things settled right away and get on with my vacation. The rest is just bonus and may or may not be useful. :)
walty Posted January 30, 2014 #27 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Why does it bothers so much with what we do with our own money? Oh never mind. There will always be an uproar here because we did not "earn" this privilege, we paid for it. Kinda like paying for past cruises and reaching a certain level. The OP asked if it was worth it and most people don't think so. Why does that bother you?

pecandelight Posted January 30, 2014 #31 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Yes, I invented questions so I could feel important in the line. Can't believe you caught me! I have a family of 4 with 3 large suitcases and smaller bags. No, we don't need anything right away but they can't carry suitcases as they are small children. And yes, my time is probably worth it. That is your opinion...you have no factual information to say "most people don't think so" Any poll can be manipulation to favor a certain side of an argument. dwayneb236 Posted January 30, 2014 #35 Share Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Most people LUUUUUUUUUUUUUV FTTF.. Only 2.5% dislike it..... See, I can do it too... And I don't even get the VIP, Platinum, Diamond, Look down on the common folk newsletter that posts these polls. This is actually kinda fun....:D Edited January 30, 2014 by dwayneb236

dwayneb236 Posted January 30, 2014 #37 Share Posted January 30, 2014 pecandelight, Just FYI. I myself cannot see one bit of contradiction in your post. But that's my opinion and not manipulated at all..
dwayneb236 Posted January 30, 2014 #38 Share Posted January 30, 2014 I'm assuming this person is a frequent cruiser who is not happy with the FTTF. They are voicing their opinion of this service and their distaste for it, which is their right and privilege. Those of us who like and use the service... or lowlifes in other words... are a convenient target... At least the day is passing a bit faster. Warm Breezes Posted January 30, 2014 #42 Share Posted January 30, 2014 It is worth it for the guest services line alone!!! I had to visit them 3 or 4 times for quarters for the laundry, a question about Wifi, a question about WHEN the waterslide would be open, etc. and the regular line was huge, whereas you walk right up to the FTTF, Platinum member line. People in the regular line were not moving fast - they only have 2-3 staff helping at a time - and I'm sure some of the problems were complicated, maybe billing or something. I had quick questions but I would have never waited in a line for 30 minutes to get quarters! That alone is worth $50. And yes, when you see others getting luggage delivered at 5 p.m. and yours was delivered right after boarding - it's a good thing. Would ALWAYS do it if it was available. See for me that would not be worth $50. I have only had to go to guest services to get extra keys when we had 2 rooms. Never for anything else. I would check the lines whenever we passed that way and avoided it when they were long....never had a wait that I would pay $50 to avoid. As for luggage...I'm patient. When it comes it comes and then I deal with it.

5Hawkeyes Posted January 30, 2014 #45 Share Posted January 30, 2014 I'm excited we were able to get FTTF for our upcoming cruise. To us getting to the room right away and unloading pop, wine, and everything else in our carry-ons is worth the $50. Even if we don't get on earlier than those traveling with us who didn't purchase FTTF. We see the value and believe it's worth $50, end of story for us:) Actually, we see the value and it's worth $100 for us and both our cabins!!! Could care less what other people feel about it's value.
Warm Breezes Posted January 30, 2014 #46 Share Posted January 30, 2014 The thread is getting testy when there is really no reason for it to be. The OP asked for opinion on whether or not FTTF is worth it. To some it would be for their own reasons. To others it wouldn't be for their own reasons. No one is right or wrong. No sense in arguing about it and it makes no sense to knock anyone for their reasons for doing so. It's ok to say if your choices would be different and why, but don't get in a huff if someone has a different opinion than you. We are all different after all. If you want it based on your wants then get it because it would be worth it to you. If you don't want it based on your wants then don't get it because it would not be worth it to you. That's the beauty of having choices.

mhetrick Posted January 30, 2014 #50 Share Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Yes, totally worth it! I sailed on the Triumph out of Galveston in January 2014. I arrived and parked at Park N Cruise across the street a little after 11:00am. Walked into the terminal, zipped through security and checked in by 11:30am. Ship started boarding at 12 noon and I was in my room by 12:15pm (after the weddings, Casino VIPS, Diamond & platinums boarded). Signs on the door indicated that rooms wouldn't be ready until after 1:30 for everyone but Diamond, Platinum and FTTF people. I used the Guest Services FTTF line a few times and it was quick...many times at least 5-10 people were in the regular line. Also, for debarkation I met in the Rome Lounge before 8:00am. We were able to debark at 7:40am. I was off the ship, through customs and in my car by 8AM! I will buy it every time it's offered!
