Rare Dolby1000 Posted January 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We arriving two days before our cruise and would like to stay near/on a beach. Has anyone stayed here? Opinion, thoughts, suggestions? We previously stayed at the Hyatt Pier 66, but that had a bit of a walk to get to the beach. If anyone has stayed here, do you know how difficult of a walk it would be to the opening where the Cruise ships sail? I know it is straight south of the hotel, not sure how far of a walk. Does the resort have laundry facilities? We are trying to under pack. Thank you for any responses. Dolby1000
cruise_control Posted January 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We're staying at Bahia Mar for the first time in May, so I can't help much. I can tell you that it's an easy walk to the beach, just over the highway on the walkway. Not sure how far from the port entrance. Royalcruz can answer these questions for you. Enjoy! ricktwo Posted January 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2014 If you wanted to walk to the inlet, it would be best to walk "on the beach" from the Bahia Mar straight south. It would probably be about 1.5 miles each way so leave with plenty of time. Once you pass the Marriott Harbor Beach resort, there isn't much else "public" so bring refreshments if you're going to make an outing of it on a weekend (in case there are a lot of ships to watch leave). lukydog Posted January 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2014 We have stayed at the Bahia Mar on 2 separate occasions and really like it! Great location. You might be able to find out about if it has laundry facilities by by searching their website under amenities.
