Brennivan Posted January 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We are looking to book a cruise on the Royal Princess. We have always booked mini suites on the Grand Class Ships. Can you recommend which mini suites to book on the Royal and why or why not? Looking forward to your suggestions. Sincerely, Brennivan
Sayra Posted January 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We booked a mini under the Skyview bar. Although there is some concern about some lack of privacy, the balconies are larger.
Brisbanelionsfan Posted January 30, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We had a mini suite mid ship on deck 10. Loved the larger bathroom, with full size bath and extra bench space. We also liked the sitting area that could be closed off with a curtain from the bed. Two flat screen TV's one in the sitting area and one in the bed area. Great Cabin Cheers
5fathom Posted January 30, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We had a forward Mini Suite, M228, at it was beautiful. Marina deck is 15. We just walked up one flight of stairs, across the pool deck and into the Horizon Court. The court is beautiful. The Mini Suite itself was everything we could want. It was spacious with a couch and two large TV sets. The bathroom is large with a great tub and shower. We also had plenty of storage room. The small balcony did not faze us at all. Try it! You will not be disappointed.
rabbitoh_777 Posted January 30, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 30, 2014 . Very interested in this topic as well. Has anyone stayed in any of the Premium balcony staterooms as well that can give some insight as an alternative to a Mini if the exact one you wanted was not available? Thanks.
pcsunlover Posted January 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2014 We booked a midship minisuite on the Baja deck for our Royal cruise in March. It has a larger balcony and we don't mind a short walk to use the forward stairs if the midship elevators are too busy.
kdkmilwaukee Posted January 31, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2014 We booked a mini under the Skyview bar. Although there is some concern about some lack of privacy, the balconies are larger. We were just in a mini suite under the Skyview bar as well (Deck 12, A422), and we enjoyed it. We were smack dab in the middle, so our extended balcony was only (supposedly) one foot deeper than the standard balcony. Even though we were mentally prepared, we were still a bit surprised by the small size, though it certainly did not stop us from enjoying it! We were next door to my parents, so we had our partition open the whole cruise. We just sat in a row versus around a table like we had been able to do on the past (Ruby, Crown). The underside of the Skyview bar does have some blue lights that cast a glow on your balcony at night, but we actually enjoyed that. We weren't at all concerned about privacy -- I don't think it's too easy for folks to see through the floor of the bar and into balconies, though it appeared to be a different story on the other side of the ship, under the Sky Walk. We'd recommend the mid-ship mini suites!
